Workshop: Performative dynamics in Sri Lankan Tamil Politics

This is an invitation-only event that is part of SovereignPerformance and focuses on recent developments and future research plans.

The central objectives of this academic workshop are:

  • to take stock of dynamics in Sri Lankan Tamil (nationalist) politics
  • to reflect on and to operationalize our conceptual approach to the performative repertoires of the Sri Lankan Tamil nationalist movement.
  • to develop concrete plans, methodological approaches and collaborations to implement the Sri Lankan component of the SovereignPerformance project.

The workshop will take place at the Academiegebouw of Utrecht University.

The project is hosted by the Conflict Research Group at Ghent University and funded by a Consolidator Grant from the European Research Council. It is executed by a team of five post-doctoral researchers and a team leader (Bart Klem).
